False Gods is a song about the disillusionment that comes with growth. It represents the moment you begin to see through the beliefs, systems, and people you once put your faith in. The music video leans into a whimsical, deliberately unreal world, where things feel just a little too strange or too fairytale-like to fully trust. This dreamlike quality reflects the nature of disillusionment itself: the unsettling feeling of waking up to a reality that no longer makes sense in the way it used to. What once felt certain and safe begins to look like mere fairy dust.

At its heart, False Gods explores what happens when you do the internal work; when you go through therapy, unlearn old patterns, and begin to see things differently, only to return to the outside world and find that very little has changed. Even though you’re not participating, the same toxic dynamics persist in the people around you. The same people cling to the same old beliefs. The world keeps asking you to have faith in things you can no longer believe in.

The video's playful, almost surreal atmosphere mirrors the strange contradiction of that experience: recognising something deeply unsettling while everyone around you continues to treat it as perfectly normal. Sometimes, the absurdity is so familiar that all you can do is laugh. Musically, False Gods wraps this cynicism in a catchy, groove-driven sound, shifting from D minor in the verses to D major in the chorus. A deliberate musical expression of “having big feelings, but making it positive”.
