'OBE MODE' Miniseries Soundtrack Single Part 3 “not mine”

OBE MODE, the first English-language miniseries created by and starring CHAN SAI GAAN, will premiere its first chapter worldwide on October 23, 2026, through the official CHAN SAI GAAN STUDIO YouTube channel. On the same day, CHAN SAI GAAN will release “not mine,” the third original soundtrack single from the series, launching the show’s visual and musical narratives together in one major event.

Following “dichotomy,” which introduced the conflict among morality, identity, and competing versions of the self, and the self-titled theme “obe mode,” which reframed mental overload as an urgent need to temporarily disconnect, “not mine” pushes the story toward a sharper and more unsettling question: when thoughts, fear, and physical reactions begin operating beyond your control, do the voices inside your head still belong to you—or have they become something else entirely? The third soundtrack single continues OBE MODE’s exploration of identity, consciousness, and the ownership of the soul, reducing its central conflict to one repeated denial: “not mine.” But that phrase is not simply an attempt to avoid responsibility. It becomes a difficult act of recognition. Which thoughts reflect the real self? Which ones are echoes left behind by trauma, anxiety, and fear? And when someone finally realizes that they may have helped feed those fears, can they still reclaim control of their own life?

The story of “not mine” begins with someone losing all sense of time. “Lost every clock in my mind” is not about missing a physical clock. It captures the way prolonged anxiety and emotional exhaustion can blur the boundaries between days. Time dissolves in the background, the heartbeat slips out of rhythm, and breathing accelerates beyond the point of control. The outside world continues as usual, but the body has already begun sounding the alarm. “Wrong sign, not mine,” “Crossed lines, not mine,” and “No control inside, not mine” form the narrator’s first psychological defense. They instinctively reject these warning signs as something foreign, as if denying ownership could create distance from the chaos. Yet with every repetition, “not mine” begins to sound less like certainty and more like self-hypnosis, exposing a widening fracture among thought, emotion, and physical response. In the second verse, “Breathing feels harder each day” and “Drowning but nobody stays” turn anxiety into an almost physical experience of suffocation. The narrator is not literally underwater, yet the air feels increasingly limited as the people around them disappear. They spin, fade, and fall while reaching for something that might provide rescue—only to discover there is nothing left to hold. It is a song about losing control, but it is also a song about trying to identify where that loss of control began.
