Douglas Dare The Joy in Sarah’s EyesWatch at the source

Douglas Dare has shared the playful new video for his latest single The Joy In Sarah's Eyes, taken from his forthcoming album Milkteeth — out February 21.

"We filmed on Margate beach, a stones throw away from where the album was recorded. The open shoreline and cloudless blue sky provided us with a boundless space to play. It was important not only to express the childlike freedom but also the freedom to be feminine; in the beginning we see stiff and awkward poses tightly held in by a suit, then complete free expression celebrating queerness in a pink dress that reminds me of one I wore constantly as a child." — Douglas Dare

Milkteeth was produced by Mike Lindsay — founding member of Tunng and one half of LUMP with Laura Marling — in just twelve days, and sees Douglas become confident and comfortable enough with his own identity to reflect on both the joys and pains of youth. In doing so, he has established himself as a serious 21st century singer-songwriter with an enduring lyrical poise and elegant minimalist sound.
