Salem, 1693. A boy with a patched-up coat and a crooked iron key vanishes one night at the edge of the wood. His footprints stop at a stone-cold stream. The village searches, the church bell counts the hours, nobody finds him.
But every Halloween, when the lamps burn low, Billy comes back. He walks the lanes with graveyard dirt on his Sunday shoes, tips his hat and takes the hand of the girl who waited for him. She grows up, she grows old, and he never changes. In the end he comes for her one last time, to walk her home.
A folk-horror ghost story in three lifetimes, told as a 60s folk song from the north.
