Eldruna Don’t Let Me GoWatch at the source

A shieldmaiden carries the ashes of her man from the burned-out hall to the black shore. While she gives him to the wind from the rock, the night he fell plays out in her head: the riders breaking through the gate, the burning roof, the shield wall at the door, the blow that took him, the way she dragged him out over the stones. And underneath it all, the feast before the raid: his hand over hers, his axe pressed into her hands, his hand on her cheek.

In the end she lets him go, picks his axe up from the stones and walks back into the world.
