Lunar and the Deception We Looked The Other Way Watch at the source

In the wake of Hurricane Katrina's devastation, a journey to New Orleans to visit Kenny 'Zulu' Whitmore, an innocent man incarcerated at Angola Prison in Louisiana, became the catalyst for a powerful musical narrative. This song emerges as a requiem for humanity, echoing the repercussions of environmental calamity fuelled by rampant consumerism and the relentless erosion of our natural world.

In an era saturated with information, paradoxically, we find ourselves increasingly detached from our surroundings and disengaged from each other, scattered for the battle against the metaphorical Goliath. Despite glaring signs and ominous prophecies of impending disaster, society seems to collectively chose to avert its gaze, when presented with difficult situations and crisis, epitomised in the poignant refrain, "We Looked The Other Way." For the creative concept of the video, Britt was inspired by the work of Gabriella M. Gutierrez and her extensive research on ancient women's wisdom traditions, when women were Shamans, and the power of the fully covered female form or veiled woman as seer and prophetess. § Delving into realms of mystique and introspection, the veiled woman becomes a poignant symbol, guiding viewers through layers of forgotten wisdom & prophecy, whilst pressing us to call and confront uncomfortable truths… § “ We love the iconography of the veiled woman and wanted to play with the idea of the power of the female body even when fully covered." § Lunar and The Deception implore viewers to break the cycle of indifference and join the fight for environmental and social justice.

The band also raise awareness of Kenny Whitmore's case, underscoring the importance of NOT LOOKING AWAY and standing up against systemic injustices in these times of crises.
