Nas Hip Hop Is DeadWatch at the source

Released on December 19, 2006, "Hip Hop Is Dead" is the lead single from Nas' album of the same name. The song critiques the commercialization and decline of authentic hip-hop culture, using samples from the Incredible Bongo Band's "Apache" and Iron Butterfly's "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida." Directed by Chris Robinson, the music video features Nas and will.i.am in dramatic cityscape visuals symbolizing hip-hop’s fall and rebirth.
