Raye Zaragoza Where I’m Supposed To BeWatch at the source
Raye Zaragoza’s Where I’m Supposed To Be brings contemporary Americana’s reflective spirit to questions of identity, heritage and belonging. Directed by Román Zaragoza, the 2026 video weaves Super 8 and iPhone footage from Arizona, Taipei and Tokyo into a personal journey through her homelands—exploring the possibility that finding a place in the world doesn’t mean choosing just one.
I wanted to take you through some of my homelands—Arizona, Taipei, and Tokyo. Coming from so many different racial and cultural backgrounds, I’ve spent a lot of my life wondering where I belong. We filmed across these places on everything from Super 8 to iPhone, weaving together different places, moments, and eras. Maybe there isn’t one place we’re supposed to be. Maybe we’re already there.
