Shakespears Sister StayWatch at the source

Shakespears Sister's "Stay," released on January 13, 1992, is a dramatic pop ballad that became the duo's signature hit. The song, featuring Marcella Detroit's ethereal vocals and Siobhan Fahey's haunting interjections, topped the UK Singles Chart for eight consecutive weeks and reached number four on the US Billboard Hot 100. The accompanying music video, directed by Sophie Muller, draws inspiration from the 1953 sci-fi film 'Cat-Women of the Moon,' depicting a surreal battle between life and death. The video's distinctive aesthetic earned it the 1993 BRIT Award for British Video of the Year.
