The Vasco Era AwayWatch at the source
An energetic indie-rock comeback with nostalgic 2000s grit.
Out September 5, “Away” is the third single from The Vasco Era's forthcoming fourth LP “I Don’t Mind” - to be released on September 19 via underground imprint Marthouse Records (Dr Sure’s, Gut Health).
With their unhinged garage-rock earning them a reputation as “one of Australia’s best live bands” (Beat), “Away” is a clear departure for the band. Sonically influenced by the Roland Juno 106 (the 80’s synthesizer) and Rowland S. Howard (the 80’s trailblazer), “Away” blends arpeggiated synths, processed beats and falsetto vocals.
The Raymond Scott-Walker directed music video transports the viewer into the song’s sonic realm - a hypnotic, analog processed, VHS style visualizer that conjures a familiar longing.
