Trisha Yearwood Walkaway JoeWatch at the source

Trisha Yearwood's "Walkaway Joe," released in 1992, is a heartbreaking ballad about a teenage girl who falls for the wrong kind of man—a drifter who was never meant to stay. Featuring harmonies from Don Henley of the Eagles, the song delivers emotional depth and storytelling mastery. The Gerry Wenner-directed video adds even more poignancy with a young Matthew McConaughey portraying the titular character. A standout track from her *Hearts in Armor* album, this country gem remains a defining moment in Yearwood’s career.
