Yaadcore x Imeru Tafari Choppa Dem Official VideoWatch at the source

“Choppa Dem” takes aim at the epidemic of youth violence in Jamaica, over a provocative sonic mixture of Nyabinghi percussion and digital trap beats from Yaadcore and co-producer Wadadah II. Rising Jamaican artist Imeru Tafari (son of reggae star Queen Ifrica and grandson of ska/rocksteady pioneer Derrick Morgan) joins Yaadcore on the track with a fiery guest verse.

“Choppa Dem" is an observation of the younger generation today,” Yaadcore explains. “In Jamaica, the term choppa dem refers to scammers. This is not directed to only scammers, but younger youths in this generation who are glorifying the word demon, resulting in a bag of senseless killing. It is a social commentary on today’s society.”
